Last week Friday, you heard Public Service Union President Jacqueline Willoughby complaining about firings in the public service. Today the opposition has joined that chorus. A press release refers to the dismissal of 12 employees at BAHA, reportedly at the order of Agriculture Minister Rene Montero. The release concludes by saying by saying that, “the UDP government...has (in six months) been called to task by the Chamber of Commerce, the Belize National Teacher’s Union, the Public Service Union and the Association of Concerned Belizeans.”
