There was a frightening home invasion at a residence on the outskirts of San Ignacio Town this weekend. It happened on Saturday night at about 10:55pm when police responded to a report on Martin Galvez Boulevard, San Ignacio Town.

Saul Barerra - a Salvadoran National told police that he was at home in Kontiki area with his family and friends socializing - when five masked men dressed in full black and armed with firearms and machetes showed up at his residence. The men took everyone inside Barerra's room and tied them up. They then searched the entire house where they found his licensed 9mm Beretta Pistol, with a magazine containing 14 live rounds of ammunition. The men also took Barerra's green Isuzu D-Max pickup truck valued at 60 thousand dollars along with an assortment of jewelry and cash.
