Last night we told you about Cecilio Gregorio, the Cayo mechanic who somehow survived an execution attempt. A shooter strode up to him in his mechanic shop and fired a shot at close range. Somehow, though, it missed, and only grazed Gregorio's head, striking him in the left shoulder.
Today, his secretary - told us that the gunman came into the office and asked for her boss - which is when she directed him to a basin outside where Gregorio was washing his hands.
She told us what happened next:...

"The only thing I know is that a man came by the door and asks for the boss and then I just answer him where my boss was. I showed him where he was and he went towards him."

"The boss was outside?"
Voice of: Secretary
"Yes."
Monica Bodden
"And then you heard the commotion?"
Voice of: Secretary
"Yes and the then shot."
Monica Bodden
"How many shots you heard?"
Voice of: Secretary
"I only heard one shot."
Monica Bodden
"When you went outside what did you notice? Your boss was shot where?"
Voice of: Secretary
"I just saw him holding his head with his hand. He was bleeding a lot and was taken to the hospital. It is frightening, but we have to continue with our lives. This can't stop us from going ahead, so we are trying to do the best."
Police and civilians pursued the shooter and his getaway driver - who were on a cycle. They escaped across the border at an unregulated crossing near to San Jose Succotz.
