And at the Central Government level, John Saldivar is no longer Minister of Immigration.
According to a government release, quote, "the Prime Minister has decided to move the Department of Immigration out of the Ministry of National Security. This will free the Ministry of National Security to administratively and operationally focus exclusively on its core, now singular, mandate."
The Ministry of Finance will also make a special transfer of 300 thousand dollars to National Security for the purchase of special equipment to be used in what's called a "reconfigured anti-crime strategy."
Immigration will now fall under Local Government Minister, Godwin Hulse along with Minister of State Elvin Penner, who was assigned special responsibility for Immigration.
