On April 23rd 2018, 70 year old businessman Oscar Rosado was killed in his hardware store by a robber. A month after Rosado's slaying, police charged one of the alleged culprits, Brandon Hughes with murder.
Well, 17 months later, police have now charged another man with murder. He is 20 year old Cayo resident Jose Gomez. Gomez was arraigned on the charge when he appeared today before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford. He was remanded until September 6.
Police said they arrested and charged Gomez after he gave them a caution statement in which he said he was with Brandon Hughes and another man when Rosado was killed.
At a preliminary inquiry that was held about 2 weeks ago, Hughes was committed to stand trial in the October session of the Supreme Court for the murder.
