In crime news...

Doctors say 28-year-old Ernest Billary has a slim chance of survival after he was shot multiple times last night, just after 8:00.

Billary, a construction worker, was at his riverside home on M and Y Street in the Lake Independence area when he was assaulted by a gunman who reportedly pulled up on boat to kill him. His neighbor, and close friend, believes that he was targeted as a former resident of an area controlled by one gang, who moved into an area controlled by its rival.

The neighbor chose to remain anonymous, but stated that while Billary tried to stay out of trouble, his past life of crime may have come back to haunt him.
