Last night we told you that prison escapee number 23, Eutychus Nunez had been recaptured by the police. He was caught tired and thirsty in southern Belize after 15 days on the run.
But what actually happened during the fateful escape? The escape that made Nunez and his fellow escapees doubly wanted men. The investigation is still ongoing and today the commissioner said that it's been put on pause until all escapees are rounded up.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"In respect to the prison investigation, you know that some prisoners are still on the run. We would want to be able to capture all prisoners before we can arrive at a conclusive determination as it relates to what actually transpired in the prison prior to the escape of those prisoners. That is where we are with this investigation at this time."
The 5 men that remain on the run are Micheal Faux, Jaroud Lamb, Enrique Martinez, Erwin Lanza, and Carlos Montejo.
