And while those three murders were committed by firearms, police are on high alert after seven guns were stolen from the San Jose Succtoz police substation. You heard right, the police were the victims of a burglary. The incident happened this morning sometime between 1 and 6:45 and the weapons stolen include 2 M4 rifles, 1 pump action shotgun, and four 9mm pistols.
ACP Joseph Myvett spoke on the details that police know so far - but this briefing left more questions than answers including, why were none of the twenty three officers attached to the substation on duty at the time? What we can tell you, though, is that an internal investigation has started and police will be questioning some of their own officers.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, NCIB
"The investigation has shown that the station was secured some time around 1am today. It is a 2 storey building and an officer resides upstairs along with his family. There are parallel investigations being carried out being that of a criminal investigation as well as an internal investigation to see what polices if any were not followed or not being adhered to. We do have a name suspect in relation to this investigation whom we are seeking and we are also following several leads. We have also obtained surveillance footages from nearby areas which we are in the process of reviewing and in the process the police officer residing upstairs will have to be detained and interviewed in relation to."
Reporter
"In there any indications that this may have been an inside job?"

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, NCIB
"At this point in time we do not want to speculate but we are following all angles."
Reporter
"Was the cop sleeping at the time for the place to be burglarized like that?"
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, NCIB
"He came off duty at 1am along with others and other shift would have come on duty sometime around 6:45am and that was when they arrive and found that several louvers were removed from a window of the station causing those persons to enter the building."
Reporter
"Is it believe that multiple persons carried out this?"
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, NCIB
"At this point in time we do not want to speculate, but we can say that what we have seen so far is that more than one person was in that area."
Reporter
"So the officer who resides there, his shift ends at 1, so who was supposed to be there from 1-6:45?"
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, NCIB
"Well apparently no one was there because that station has been there for a number of years and it was manned by one police officer. It has been upgraded where a shift system has since been put in place."
Reporter
"So nobody was there. Isn't that a concern?"
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, NCIB
"Of course it is and that's the reason why an internal investigation is being held."
Reporter
"Because officers were supposed to be there."
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, NCIB
"I do not know whether or not their shift system encompasses the entire 24 hours and that is also a system that is being looked at as a part of the internal investigation."
The guns were kept in a steel cabinet, locked by a key. Up to this afternoon, police were unsure whether the lock was damaged or opened by the key.
