He's one of the controversial new CEO's - but on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health posted a picture of Dr. Marco Tulio Mendez already at work at a desk in the Ministry.
That facebook post said new Minister Michel Chebat, and his Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Marco Tulio Mendez held several meetings to get updated with priority affairs of the Ministry.
But, that was Wednesday and sources tell us that, today, new CEO Mendez was not at work. Now, he may have been working in the field - but you'll recall that on Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Briceno gave an address saying, quote, "To date, no CEO has been appointed." That post and photo directly contradicted the PM's remarks, so Dr. Mendez may have gotten one of those instant recalls. He's also under fire for a charge of child molestation he faced some years - which was later dropped.
By next week we should know which of the CEO's get to stay and which - if any - will be rescinded because of the public uproar.
We do know that it's causing divisions within the PUP's rank and file and we have seen screenshots from a chat group named TRUE BLUE WOMEN where chat administrators are demanding an oath of loyalty to embattled CEO nominee Narda Garcia. We've seen screenshots where a member of the group got into some crosstalk after that request and ended up leaving the group, claiming she was bullied.
