Police: Dead Farmer was a Drunk

On Monday we told you about the discovery of 48-year-old Eli Chan's decomposed body. Chan was found on a farm behind the Maya Mopan cemetery and at the time of the discovery was thought to have been a victim of foul play.

But tonight Belmopan residents can rest at least a little easier because the release of his postmortem proves his death to have been due to acute respiratory failure from Bronchopneumonia as a consequence of chronic alcoholism.
