And another man was shot today in broad daylight - just after 10 this morning. Surveillance footage in the area shows a delivery truck belonging to Jackie's Bakery in the 8 Miles Community arrived in front of Tow Tow Grocery Store on Mahogany Street. The passenger gets out of the truck and goes towards the store. Shortly after, a woman and her child are passing the truck - but presumably hear gunshots and hurriedly moves in the other direction. A man on a bicycle is seen riding past the truck shortly after. Other people quickly come out to see the commotion, and the passenger goes to the truck and opens the door. A minute later, an officer comes and soon, more police arrive on scene. They take the victim out of the truck and put him in an ambulance that arrives shortly after.
According to the police report, the man was identified as 43-year-old Jose Santos. He was reportedly shot four times, once in his shoulder and forearm and twice in his chest. Police canvassing the scene found several expended shells and later discovered a black 9mm Ruger brand firearm in a nearby drain. Santos is in a stable condition and police continue to investigate.
