Last night, we told you about that successful anti-drug operation in the Corozal District in which the cops intercepted a large quantity of marijuana and 2 high-powered weapons. Police have since provided more details on the case, and they say that the officers managed to confiscate an entire cargo of marijuana that has a total weight of 694.76 pounds, or just over 315 kilograms.

Sometime after 5 a.m yesterday morning, police were in operation in the Yo Chen Village when they spotted 2 individuals in a GMC pickup truck. As the men realized that law enforcement was in the area, they reportedly ran away and left the truck behind. The police team searched then searched the vehicle, and then the cane field where the vehicle was parked. That's when they found a total of 29 bales of marijuana, an AK-47 rifle with 2 magazines carrying 80 live rounds of ammunition, an AR-15 rifle with 2 magazines and 51 live rounds of ammunition, 13 live rounds of 0.38 ammunition, and a single live round of 9mm ammunition. They were all in a black and blue school bag, and so because the men fled the scene, all these illegal items and the abandoned truck were retrieved by the cops.
