And while the minister of Health is committed to taking that pay cut, the Minister of Home Affairs may have already gotten a deep one!
Sources tell us that unlike other ministers he doesn't get a housing and entertainment allowance. It's a slight he says he didn't even notice until it was pointed out during his recent appearance on Channel 7's UNCUT.
Hon. Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs
"You know this wise man Jules Vasquez was the one who brought that to my attention that I am not receiving these benefits. I am not going to go clamoring for any benefits. If I am not receiving so be it, but I have my own house so I don't need a housing allowance. I know other ministers might be in need of housing allowance, they have to travel from very far and so I am very understanding of their situation. My commute is only a one hour commute."
The housing entertainment allowance is 1600 dollars monthly.
