Drug Raid In Corozal Town

Before the break, we told you about a drug bust in Corozal - well that wasn't the only one; at around midday yesterday, Corozal Police executed a raid at a home in Santa Rita Village.

42-year-old Carmelita Gonguez, the homeowner, was present, and in her company at the time were 43-year-old Sherleen Giddare from Corozal Town; 20-year-old Nigel Gonzalez, a resident of the same village; and 2 minors. A search of the entire house led to the discovery of 12 parcels containing marijuana to a total amount of 7.36 kilos - or 16.2 pounds.

Police have since arrested and charged all 5 persons with possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another.
