And while the cops have leads to pursue in those shooting incidents, they are trying to get to the bottom two deaths that happened in the South.
We start first with the investigation into the death of 60-year-old Francisco Bah, a resident of the Mile 25 Hummingbird Community.
At around 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, police found his body in an area between miles 25 and 26 on the Hummingbird Highway. The problem is that the police don't know if his injuries were caused by a hit-and-run traffic accident, or if he was assaulted by a mob.
Today, police shared what information they have been able to establish about Bah's death:
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero - Deputy Head, NCIB
"On Saturday, the 1st day of May 2021, police visited an area between 25 and 26 on the Southern Highway, where they saw the motionless body of a male person with injuries. The male person was identified as Francisco Ba, 60 years, Belizean of that area. The investigation is that on the previous day, and thereafter, he was found in that area with the injuries. We are conducting an investigation to determine what transpired, and a post mortem will determine the cause of death."

Reporter
"Sir, reports are suggesting, one, that he may have been killed in a hit-and-run, but there are also reports suggesting that he may have been jumped by a group of people and robbed."
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"Yes, we're following up on that information, and at the end of the day, the investigation will determine - also the post-mortem - what was his cause of death."
