30-year-old Dane Canto was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident on Saturday night.

It happened on Gill street where neighbor Patrice Gardiner says it was the second traffic accident to take place that night on a curb that she describes as a death trap.

She spoke to us via phone today and shared her eyewitness account of the terrible, traumatic accident.

Patrice Gardiner, Concerned Resident
"Me and my neighbor we were sitting in her yard, I wasn't at my house and we heard a big bang. We always knew that something was going to happen on that street, because they have a dangerous curve and the people always come swinging in and don't give regards to no one, they just swing in, drive fast in. Earlier in the night a car was on the same street and it crashed into another car. That was like 2 hours before this same accident happened. It looks like Mr. Canto was riding and the person in the ninja bike just swerve towards him. It looks like he flew up in the air and then he drop down, because when we went on the scene he was lifeless, he wasn't moving, like he got knocked out. But all of this would have been avoided if somebody put speed bumps on that street so that traffic can slow down."

"When you say he was lifeless, did he survive?"

Patrice Gardiner, Concerned Resident
"Yes, he survived and I am too sure the condition he is in, but the last time I heard he was in a bad condition and that he had his face all broken up, thank God he survived."

"I am lobbying for a speed bump on that street. I just lost my sister 3 months ago to a major traffic accident, so I don't want to come right in front on my face. You know how I felt that night to see a person just like how I saw my sister laying on the ground right in front of my yard - it's too close to home, so I'm begging city council, I'm begging everybody who hear this to please put speed bumps on Gill Street. We don't need one, we need two. He was a nice person and he got ran over just like that and the person just drove off, no care and that's what they always do whenever they do their accident, they drive off and don't do anything."

Canto remains on a ventilator at the KHMH.
