But while that incident is being disputed, the investigation into the burglary in Spanish Lookout is closer to completion after the suspected burglars were detained. The police worked with the community to catch the thieves who took $500 from Caribbean Tires. ACP Myvett spoke more on it.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head NCIB

"What happened is that sometime in the wee hours of Sunday morning, the alarm at Caribbean Tires went off and those persons concerned realized that someone was trying to break into the area as a result the police patrol was immediately deployed and thereafter found three persons not in the immediate area but who does not lived in Spanish Lookout and as a result those persons were detained pending investigation."

Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero noted that while the community was of assistance in this incident, the police does not encourage vigilante justice and instead would prefer the civilians make the report and allow the police to do their work. Meanwhile, Myvett pointed out that in this particular case, many of the residents of Spanish Lookout are special constables.
