A Hotline For Human Traffic
And while the National Fire Service gets new trucks, Belize's Anti-Human Trafficking organizations are about to get their own hotline.
SMART has decided to donate a dedicated TIP Hotline and Telephone where citizens can report human Trafficking concerns, kind of like the Crimestoppers hotline. It's a donation being made possible through the Love Foundation, and today, SMART and the Ministry of Human Development held a small handing-over ceremony:
This new hotline is expected to be activated in the very near future.
Waning Hopes At COP
One Week after the Start of COP26 the consensus on the ground in Glasgow is that the summit is poised to fail.
It's a projection in total contrast of the strong commitments and messages of hope that were proclaimed at last Week's World Leaders summit, and the disappointment on the ground at COP26 is palpable
Still, the Caribbean region's Ministers and Heads of Delegations at Glasgow are expected to land what's called a quote: "Glasgow package".
That package that CARICOM hopes will prove to be the fruit of its labors after a long and arduous week was the goal of a Ministerial meeting held earlier today.
Cherisse Halsall was taking notes, still, on assignment in Glasgow Scotland, she has a small update.
A press release from the Caribbean Climate Change center this evening says quote: "The USD 100bn roadmaps still indicates a shortfall until 2023. Furthermore, key aspects to complete the Paris rulebook to accelerate action towards implementation of requisite provisions of the Paris Agreement have made little progress." End quote.
More on this story tomorrow.

She Shot Uncle's GF
27-year-old Shawn Morgan is behind bars tonight on a single charge of conspiracy to commit murder. Morgan allegedly went to her uncle's home on Western Avenue to see him around 7pm on Friday. She was allegedly told by her uncle's common-law wife, 30-year-old Shantell Bowen, that he did not want to speak with her and then Bowen closed the door. Morgan reportedly threatened Bowen and shortly after, a man that was inside the vehicle she had arrived in came out and fired shots at the house. Bowen received injuries to her hand. In court today, Morgan appeared in front of Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson and was remanded until January 25th, 2022. Morgan was unrepresented and no plea was taken from her. Police are still looking for the others who were inside the vehicle, including the gunman.
