But, in the week when the news for the government should be all abut the blue bond, it's actually mostly about the Bladen 11. And so while government should be on the offensive, instead it's on a full court defensive press.
And so today's spin was that, no matter how bad you think the whole crooked cops landing a drug plane narrative might sound - it's actually a bold, BLU win:

"In the week when you are celebrating year in office with this great blue bond accomplishment, the headline, the only thing everybody is talking about is the corruption in the police department with the commander of operations strike team and all that's associated with that. What's your view on it and what do you think should happen to Marco Vidal and those under his command?"

"First of all I don't know the details about it even if I know I would not be able to tell you. But I think its not necessarily a downer. I think everybody has been suspecting that something has been going on within the police department, so it is a win for our government that it is finally under a government that we manage to do such a big bust and to be able to break that ring that's within the police. So you may see it as a downer, but when you look at it from our perspective it is a win."

"Do you think ACP Marco Vidal should be placed on administrative leave?"

"I am not in a position to be able to mention anything about that. I really don't know. I need to sit down and speak with Minister Musa and the commissioner of police Chester Williams."

"You realize that it fulfills the public's narrative that well of course the police are helping land it. That's like what everybody in the public has believe for a long time. It fulfills a very sinical conclusion that Belizeans have long suspected."
