Frightening allegations matched by unprecedented bail conditions, and in what Bradley called a first for Belize, the police officers in question will be made to surrender all functioning phone numbers in their possession as well as any additional numbers they may choose to apply for from now until their trial.
Dickie Bradley, Attorney
"Those officers are to hand in all their telephone numbers that they may have and if they go an apply for any telephone, although the law is you have to register a phone, they are still required as a condition of the bail to give that number. The court ordered that they do it through their attorney. I would hope that do it straight to the court, but if they go and get a new phone that number must be made available and handed over, so the court could know what if there is any attempts to do anything and toward any at all, because they can't speak to no witness, they can't contact no police who is involved in this case or anything like that and so they are saying don't try go through the back door and made you can call and make contact, it's not going to go like that."
Good defence attorney that he is, Bradley stressed that the purpose of bail should not be used as a weapon against the accused.
