Corozal resident, 33 year old Lucas Hoare was reported missing last night - and he was found dead this morning.

He lives in Sosa Layout of Corozal town and his brother told police that on Sunday night he heard someone at his borther's home. He went to check it out and saw that his brother's Isuzu pickup was in front of the house. The next morning the pickup was gone and so was Lucas. He didn't show up for work that morning and wasn't seen again - until his body was found at 7:30 this morning in a cane field in Xaibe village. He was found with multiple stab wounds and cuts to the body, arms and face. His vehicle was also found completely burned.

His former employer today told CTV-3 that he was very reliable and she knew something was wrong when he didn't show up to work on Monday at 8:00:

Judith Mendez, People's Diabetes Association

"He didn't show up and so we were concerned, but at the same time he is an adult so I gave it some time, but everyone was very concerned and we were just hoping that maybe he just had a bad night and he was going to come back to the office. Then we heard last night that they found the vehicle and that just did not give us a good feeling about that after that. He was very articulate; he was always the one that did the interviews and he was very passionate about our mission and vision. He was the core, he helped us with everything here. He is sadly going to be missed."

Police have no suspects at this time.
