But while Friday was particularly violent with 3 murders in 12 hours, the rest of the weekend in the City was surprisingly calm.

According to the Commissioner, peace on the streets is thanks to the quick and efficient work of police officers who spent the weekend confiscating loaded firearms from would-be assailants who were up to no good. Here's more:

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I am happy to say that over the weekend we had three different instances where police stop and searches led to the detention and arrest of individuals with loaded firearms. These are persons who we believe were going to carry out murders, but they were interrupted or the act was foiled by the police actions and presence on the street. Again, to show that the police are out there doing what we can. So as much as yes, we have those that occurred, we can still say that the police actions over the weekend also foiled a numbers from occurring and that is what we are going to continue to do. Do our best to keep our people as safe as they can be. And at the same time, we also ask that the citizenry play their role in trying to ensure their safety as well."
