And a man was in court yesterday for allegedly assaulting a police officer. 28-year-old Stephen Barrington Flowers showed up before Magistrate Baja Shoman with a wound on the left side of his head. Magistrate Shoman allowed Flowers to sit during the arraignment because of this and he told the court that he had been stabbed. Still, the session went on and Flowers, who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty to the charge of wounding. There was no objection to bail, so it was granted in the sum of $1,500 plus one surety of the same amount, which he was unable to meet by late in the evening.

According to the victim, 27-year-old PC Akeem Jones, on January 14tharound 11:00 am, he was at the corner of Water Land and West Street when he was attacked by three persons. The first person reportedly hit him behind the head and neck while the second attacker stabbed him behind his right ear and left arm.

The suspect, Flowers, has another allegation made against him before the court in relation to a video that went viral which showed a group of men attacked another man outside of the San Pedro Water Taxi terminal back in 2021. That case is still ongoing and he was out on bail when his latest incident occurred.

Police are looking for the other two attackers.

As it concerns Flowers' injury, he claimed he was on medication for the stab wound and that his skull had been fractured. He reportedly explained this to the police when they first picked him up.
