And while police are still investigating that matter, an arrest has been made in the strange case of the elderly assault in Belmopan. We say strange because, according to the police, the victim isn't elderly after all! He was identified as 47-year-old Cornel Young. Young reported to police that he had visited a residence on Kiskadee Street in Belmopan on January 20th when 38-year-old Edmund John Guy came out from the yard and allegedly began hitting Young, as seen in the video. Guy took one last blow to Young's head, causing him to collapse. Shortly after, the owner of the house came outside and asked what had happened, and that's when Young got up and walked away from the incident.
The statement was recorded on February 1st and police have since arrested and charged Guy with aggravated assault.
