There was a brazen Saturday afternoon robbery of a Grocery Store on Albert Street.
Midtown Grocery, which is right beside our Channel 7 studio, was the target of a robbery in which two men forced the owner to open up for them at gunpoint. In this surveillance footage, you can see two men roaming the store's isles. Then, they proceed to shove the owner into a back area. One of the assailants then rummages through all the areas behind the counter where cash might be kept.
They stole an undisclosed amount of cash, and today, police told us that they have known suspects who they are actively searching for:

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood - Police Communications Officer
"This happened on Saturday around 3:25 p.m. We know that two persons forced him into the back area of his store and relieved him of an undisclosed amount of cash The owner of this store Mr. Ahmad, 32-years-old has since made an official report. He's stating that one of the assailants pointed a gun at him and demanded that he open the bars. And then the other one came and assisted. They search for the cash drawer, and then, he was taken to where they believed he had his stash. And yes, they relieved him of a large amount of cash. We have processed that scene, and we believe that the assailants are from not too far from that area. We do have persons wanted for it. I mean, this is a daring Albert Street Robbery, one of the streets that I consider the safest in this city. And for them to come and ruin people's thoughts about Albert Street, by doing something like this, we have to bring them to justice."
ASP Yearwood says that there was a third accomplice to this robbery, and that person stayed outside and acted as a lookout.
This is at least the third time this store has been robbed.
