And moving on to Micah Goodin, the deputy mayor has a little over one week before he is removed from the post and replaced with someone else. This is, as you surely know by now, following a shootout during which a youth shadow councillor was injured.
We asked PUP politician, Minister Kareem Musa, for his take on the situation. While he didn't give an exact answer, he did say that he doesn't think the police went easy on Goodin.
Hon. Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs & New Growth Industries

"I don't have any comment in terms of that, I'm not familiar with the procedure that they have embarked on but what I can say, looking at it from the outside, as public figures, you saw where Micah Goodin came under the microscope, you saw where OJ Elrington came under the microscope, as public figures there's that extra light that's shined on us so we have to always be aware of what is happening around us as public figures, and it can happen to any of us in terms of not insuring your motor vehicle on time but again there were some other things that happened in relation to Mr OJ Elrington's incident that prompted the police to take action, obviously he would have been charged for the not having insurance, but also there was an accident, so we just as public figures, we have to understand that we are under that microscope."
"From what I gather, in respect of that particular incident, both sides, the side from Mr Tillett and from Mr Goodin's vehicle, both sides are saying Micah Goodin did not pull his weapon and did not shoot at anyone, and so in a situation like that I totally disagree with Michael Peyrefitte's analogy that this is some sort of joint enterprise, that's ridiculous, what Micah Goodin said is that he was leaving a scene, what happens if his occupants then decide to do something, that's not up to him, he's actually leaving. And so I do not agree with Michael Peyrefitte in that analogy and certainly if both sides were saying that Micah Goodin was leaving and he's not the one that did anything, then I don't see why he should be the one to get charged."
