And last month, we told you about an attempt to poison an entire village. San Vicente's water system was reportedly contaminated after someone poured a bottle of malathion insecticide in it. At least six persons were hospitalised because of it, but, fortunately, no fatalities.
Police had later detained one person, but according to the registrar of pesticides, no one has been charged as yet.

"It's still unconfirmed if the picture that was circulating on social media, if that is the product that they found on the site. But the recommendation, what I know is that some tests have been carried out on the water system, we were recommending that the tank be replaced but they had been able to conduct some tests but we haven't received a final report from the Ministry of Health on the results of those tests but a team has been working on it to make the call if when the system is safe enough to be used again. And of course, that case really brought to light the need to ensure these systems have adequate security or safeguards to prevent anything like this from happening. Apparently from the legal standpoint, they couldn't place the person on the site so I understand that is how that case is playing out."
