Keeping it in Toledo, the school board said no to Leader of the Opposition, Shyne Barrow as graduation guest speaker, so the students of Julian Cho High School in Toledo will have to settle for the Head Of State, Froyla Tzalam.
That's who they selected today after they were given a strict list - with a very ethnically homogenous selection - and, needless to say, Shyne Barrow was not one of them.
From this list, Froyla Tzalam topped the polls but at this point, we can't say how many votes she got. What we can say though is that her name was also in the last poll and on that occasion, she got 24 votes to Shyne's 48.
But while Tzlam emerged victorious this time around it's still up to her if she'll do it - since, she is, after all, the second choice. Julian Cho Technical High School's graduation is on June 18th.
Presently the Governor-General is on her way to London where she will join her commonwealth colleagues in the celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
We contacted the principal who referred us to the chairman Leonardo Cal - who we've been texting since yesterday. We did get through today, but the line mysteriously went dead as soon as we said we were calling for the news. We're still waiting for a call back.
