And before we go to break, we have a correction to one of our stories that aired last night.
That's the report reviewing surveillance footage of the deadly shooting that happened last Wednesday night in Orange Walk Town. We made a misidentification of the victims in the footage last night, which Daniel Ortiz rectifies in this report:
Reviewing last Wednesday surveillance video of the shooting/ murder in Orange Walk Town, we wrongly concluded that the man being shot multiple times on the ground was the murder victim 38-year-old Reynaldo Marchand.
But, we were wrong - this was 31-year-old Nazir Vasquez, and he survived these point blank shots. Those familiar with the men, tell us that Reynaldo Marchand is the victim seen running away shortly after the gunfire began. He later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical treatment at the Northern Regional Hospital.
We also apologize to the family of Reynaldo Marchand for the error.
