We now briefly return to this morning's press conference with Police Commissioner Chester Williams. He was asked about Rene Montero Sr., who as viewers will remember, was listed 6 weeks ago as an international fugitive.
The former Three-term Area Rep., who was a senior UDP Minister, was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice.
As we told you, a Red Notice is a "request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action."
When the Police Commissioner was asked about it today, he said that according to Montero's attorney, who is his son, he should be returning to the country in a few more weeks:
Reporter
"You said in your interview before that his family, his son, who is his attorney, has committed that once he's back in the country will turn himself in. But, I wonder if this is going to go on in perpetuity because it's been several months now that he's been away. Has the department made any efforts to see if we can sort of speed up that process?"

Chester Williams - Commissioner of Police
"Well, we are counting on the undertaking given by the attorney for Mr. Montero, and we're hoping that, in fact, when he returned to the country, I was given a timeline. We have not reached that timeline as yet, but I'm almost confident that once we reach that timeline that the attorneys are going to bring him in. So, we'll wait for that."
Reporter
"Would you share what that timeline is?"
Chester Williams
"The timeline is in July."
