And in other news, we've been reporting extensively on PC Stephanie Patten and her pattern of being caught with illegal items but not facing the consequences. While she was remanded this time around, her lawyer said that another person had stepped forward to take the rap.
But, regardless of how the criminal proceeding goes, the Police Minister confirmed that she will be facing both criminal and disciplinary charges.

Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs & New Growth Industries
"Definitely it is a huge concern for me as minister that this particular officer was caught in a very compromising position, not once but twice, so that's definitely concerning to me as minister and I'm certain that there will be not only criminal charges but a tribunal process, disciplinary proceedings that will be taken against Miss Patten and we just have to await the outcome of that and of course as you know the commissioner has very wide powers and discretion to take action after that tribunal has concluded."
Courtney Menzies:
"And I'm sure it alarms you to hear another set of officers, apart from Elmer Nah and co., another set of officers are allegedly involved with narco movements through Belize and Mexico."
Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs & New Growth Industries
"It is definitely a concern whenever you hear any member of the security forces, whether it's the military or the police department. As I have said time and time again, the first group of people that narcos would try to employ in their endeavors would be the security forces and so those who would be inclined to take part in that, certainly that's a concern for us but we have to definitely monitor that and weed them out and I can tell you in the last year, we have not been powdering officers whatsoever, if it is that you are involved and you are found to be involved, we have been dismissing them."
