And while the gang situation in the city remains volatile tonight because there could be retaliation for these recent deaths, in the north, suspected narco violence also remains prevalent. That's what police believe prompted an event last night where one man was shot, and his whole family put in mortal danger when their house was sprayed with bullets.

It happened in Chan Chen Village, Corozal where 43 year old Sergio Hall was at home with his wife, daughter, and brother. Around 8:00, a Toyota Camry pulled up in front of their home and two armed men, dressed in dark clothing emerged from the vehicle with guns blazing. One of them wore a ski mask, the other had a hoodie pulled over his head.

One of the gunmen walked up to the verandah and started firing into the Hall's home. The second stood by a car parked in the yard and fired towards Leonardo Hall's house - which is on the same property. Both men then retreated and raced off into the night. Sergio Hall was shot to his right shoulder, and was rushed to the Corozal Hospital where he is stable.

But, he and his family are lucky to have survived. A total of 10 bullet holes were discovered at the northeast corner of the second house while 22 expended shells were recovered from the scene of the property. The ammunition used was 7.62 caliber which is used in an AK47, as well as.223 and 5.56 rounds used in M4 carbine or AR-15's - all high powered assault rifles.

Hall was also recently shot in May in the Pueblo Nuevo Ferry Shootout that left one man dead.
