Last night we told you all about the difficulties with the gun license issued to Mayor of Benque Viejo, Jorge Antonio Rosales. The Mayor, as we reported, has a criminal record. We also proved that Commissioner Chester Williams was way, way off when he said that the criminal record resulted from a crime which occurred over twenty years ago. In fact, he was convicted of a firearm offense - with his licensed weapon - as recently as 2018 - and his gun license was not revoked. But Commissioner Chester Williams told us today that he didn't issue that license. He says it was issued in April of 2017 by his predecessor, Commissioner Whylie - and Mayor Rosales was also convicted during Whylie's tenure. Williams became commissioner in January of 2019.
