The video of a police officer haplessly setting chase after a burglary suspect has gone viral, but the suspect remains at large. Tyrone Reyes - who escaped from a police officer at the Corozal Community Hospital on Wednesday is now listed in an internal police message as reportedly hiding in Carmelita Village, Orange Walk.
On Wednesday the Commissioner of Police said Reyes had gone to court on burglary charges and was allegedly playing possum when he told the magistrate that he was not feeling well. The magistrate ordered the police to take him to the hospital and as he got there, he bolted, in handcuffs, leaving a pursuing police officer in the dust.
As is now immortalized in meme-dom, the luckless officer tripped while skipping across a drain and fell.
