He's under heavy attack, and 20 minutes ago Minister Andre Perez sent a 7 page statement that he says fully details his relationship with attorney Wendy Auxillou. As we have reported, she accuses him of predatory behavior and sexual harassment. He accuses her of extortion - and, tonight, we can add to that, entrapment.

His statement opens with a declaration, quote "I am most remorseful for the shame and pain I have brought on my wife, my children and you the people who voted for me and supported me, and I ask your forgiveness and that all attacks be levied against me, but not my family nor my party." End quote.

The release says he is prepared to come clean and he offers an extensively detailed narrative of their relationship which he said started with her offering to help with his campaign where he said she had her own agenda, quote, "to seek special favours for her own personal benefits and expedite matters for her clients..."

He claims that it is she who first made sexual advances on him and the Minister's statement says quote, "instead of being strong and walking away he gave in to this moment of weakness..."

From there he says their virtual relationship continued, during which she "bombarded" him with compliments and sweet words - and, like a smitten teenager, he says the flattery worked.

From there the minister says the power dynamic in their relationship changed where she started making demands that he use his ministerial power to help her with a liquor license and land papers.

He says that never worked as she wanted so they ended the relationship but they remained friendly which he says proved he wasn't sexually harassing her - since they were amicable.

He says she asked for a meeting as recently as August 16th and claims he has an audio recording of her saying she wants land.

The statement is A LOT but he says there is even more he wants to recover but he wants to keep it private. He concludes by saying she cannot prove there was any threat at all.

In response, Auxillou told us this evening it's "just more character assassination. It's Minister Perez trying to control the narrative and paint himself as the victim."

She says she is out of the country and is quote, "afraid to go back to Belize for fear of being arrested because they are "threatening to file criminal charges against" her.
