Shyne Barrow has already written to Royal Caribbean hinting that the Portico Project will not be honored under a UDP government.
Well now he has written to the Royal Caribbean Group Audit Committee making it even more clear. In a letter dated today, he says, quote, "If RCG persists in what the UDP regards as a corrupt arrangement with Portico, we will have no choice but to review and, if necessary, cancel this project when we form the next government in 2025."
Barrow adds, quote "my Party and I are just as committed to ensuring that a corrupt project like this is not saddled upon Belizean taxpayers without full exposure and review….The Opposition urges RCG to discontinue its involvement in such a scandalous project conceived in and sustained by corruption that will no doubt sully your global reputation." End quote.
