Orange Walk Resident Nimrod Tillet, previously accused of two murders, has been on remand since October 10th 2023 because he is wanted for murder in Mexico.
He was back in court today after an application for his apprehension regarding extradition proceedings was granted by the court.
Tillet is accused of murdering a female companion in Quintana Roo Mexico in 2019, and dumping her body in a dumpster, which was allegedly caught on surveillance footage.
The Chief Magistrate informed him today that his extradition proceedings will commence on January 29th 2024. He was also handed over 150 pages of disclosure. Tillet had asked the court for legal advice, and was told to seek it from the Legal Aid office. On crutches from a recent shooting in.
