And, with Codd on the run for over two weeks now - he may also be sentenced in absentia.

Today in Orange Walk - we asked the commissioner if there are any leads on his whereabouts:

Reporter:
"Hildebrandt Codd was convicted in absentia today, your comment?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"Well I am extremely grateful for the conviction I think it is warranted. The judge having heard all the evidence came to that conclusion and we respect that. The sad part is that he is still at large and we are still doing what we can to be able to locate him. I am told that perhaps his parents may know where he is and we want to appeal to them to kindly surrender him to the police if it is that they are aware of his whereabouts I think it is best for him to surrender than have the police constantly going out pursuing him so again I am also told that he came froma good family background and again a good family background would simply mean it they would advise him to do the right thing, and the right thing is for him to surrender himself to the police."
