Alleged murderer Hildebrandt Codd is on the run - after he escaped 16 days ago - but tonight - he is a convicted killer on the loose.

Today, Justice Ricardo Sandcroft handed down his verdict in an 80-page written judgment. Sandcroft found conclusively that Codd had killed Densmore Bowman in December of 2019.

He referred to key pieces of evidence, including witnesses whose unshaken testimonies were vital strands of proof of guilt against Codd.

And with the drop of the judicial gavel, Codd was found GUILTY - in absentia - of the murder of Densmore Bowman.

Today, outside the courtroom, his family. - still emotional - expressed satisfaction with the verdict:

Reporter:
"Tell us, how does it feel like hearing that verdict just now? Hilderbrand Codd was found guilty of murder of your brother and your son. Tell us how the family feels today."

Tiffany Gill, Sister of deceased

"I mean, we are happy. We fought very hard for this because we knew that he did it from day one. It's the best feeling for us?"

"Honestly, It's the best feeling for us. As the Judge rightfully said there was enough evidence to convict him. There is no way of escaping. I mean, the witness was just unshaken. Her evidence was strong, there was no way she would have known any of this if it was not actually thought by him. We are very happy and very grateful for that."

Marie Coleman August, Mother of Deceased

"My son was a loving, kind, work hard to take care of his family, and would leave every morning."

"My son used to always send a text and just to find out if I am okay and to let me know that he is out. And four years now because of Mr. Codd I don't get that text any more. I don't hear mom, I love you from my son. But thank the good Lord today I get justice for my son. He had four kids 2 girls and two boys."

"And he's not here for nothing because of Mr. Codd."

Sentencing is set for 11th January 2024.
