Tonight the man accused of killing 30-year-old Darnell Puerto is on remand after he was arraigned this morning. 28-year-old Shaquille Perera was charged with murder, attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and wounding, and appeared unrepresented in court. Though no plea was taken, he told the court that he resides in Ladyville, and has no knowledge of the crime.

Still, the Chief Magistrate told him that within a few weeks the court will provide him with the disclosure, which is when they can address the matter of his alibi. He was remanded until February 29th, 2024.
