Jasmin Hartin made a new appearance at the Belize City magistrates court this afternoon. It's a continuation of her San Pedro trial for common assault and possession of controlled drugs.

She was charged for common assault of a hotel employee, in addition to possessing 0.4 grams of cocaine - on the night of the Jemmoth shooting.

Hartin was represented today by attorney Arthur Saldivar. He elaborated on today's proceedings:

Arthur Saldivar, Attorney
"Well Anita Ms. Hartin appeared in court to answer to the charges that were levied against her. Given that there was a change in venue and a change in prosecutor and also a change in attorney, there was a need for the court to furnish us with notes of evidence."

"We should have that by the next adjourned date. Or sometime prior to the next adjourned date, which is in March. So we can actually have this matter be concluded at some point. What has been established is that Hartin respects the processes of the court."

"She has submitted herself time and time again to the jurisdiction of the court. She has shown that she has no propensity to flee. She flew in from where she was to be here and as you could attest, she was in court early and sat patiently awaiting her time to have her matter be sorted out."

Today's case was adjourned for March 27TH.
