A Brazilian prisoner escaped from police custody yesterday morning around 6:00. Jonathas Lima managed to ditch the cops at the Corozal Police Station. Reports are that he ran through the back fence, hopped over the fence of another establishment, then escaped into the bushes near the river. He only had one night of freedom before he was caught, however. We asked the ComPol how he managed to escape in the first place.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"He was captured this morning, he escaped from the Corozal police station yesterday while the police officers were in the process of cleaning the cell and searching the cell, he escaped from them and he was recaptured this morning."
Reporter:
"Was there any lax in security at that station?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I have tasked the regional commander, Mr Noble, to look at the surveillance footage at the station and once that is done, we'll determine if there was some error on the part of the police."
Reporter:
"Where was he found?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I think in the Orange Walk District."
