Government is going on its merry way towards the municipal election two groundbreakings at a time, but the Joint Unions Negotiating Team is trying its best to slow them down just a little with an ominous release today.

Today, they gave GOB a deadline to begin consultations and negotiations on a comprehensive public sector salary review exercise.

JUNT claims that GOB is preventing them from moving forward in the revision process. Their release details that "Of grave concern is the Government's lack of response to our queries, and lack of cooperation in ensuring the establishment of proposed working groups and committees to address the various matters. We consider Government's inaction and unresponsiveness as disingenuous and an act of bad faith in addressing these very pressing and important matters" They have given GOB no less than 21 days to sign the concluded Collective Bargaining Agreement and to return to the negotiating table no later than thirty (30) days from the date of the release.

We'll follow up with the government for a response.
