And in crime news, last week, a man and a 15-year-old girl were both shot dead at a store on Curl Thompson Street.

Yesterday, the two main suspects, 20-year-old Gian Sutherland and 30-year-old Giovanni Ramirez turned themselves into police - after a few days of being Belize's most wanted. And today, the ComPol says that though they're being questioned, it's been difficult to find the evidence to charge them.

However, he says they're quite sure that these are the culprits, they just have to prove it.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I am hoping we can get the evidence to charge them because we are pretty certain as to who the perpetrators of that double murder are. Unfortunately we have not been able to get the evidence to lay charges against those persons who we know are culpable. We're going to continue to work with the community to see if they will be able to provide us with more information. Investigators have been busy, I myself have been on the ground trying to work with the community to see if we can get the information needed to be able to effect an arrest but we have not gotten there as yet. Those who surrendered to the police yesterday, they are being interviewed by the police. Again, they came in with attorneys, which means that, if you know you're innocent, why will you bring a lawyer? That says a lot, but it's a part of their right to have counsel when being interviewed by the police and so we're just going to see what we can do."

Reporter:
"Were you able to ascertain a notice for why they were targeting Mr Hyde?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Well we believe, if you know there was an incident about two or so months ago where Giovanni Ramirez was knocked down and stabbed and he was hospitalized for a couple of weeks, it was alleged that Mr Hyde was the one who did that so we believe that it is a retaliation in respect of that."

We'll keep following it to let you know if and when they are charged.
