She Knocked Down At 87-year-old, Loans Officer Pleads Down, Escapes Fine

She knocked down and killed an 87 year old man and today a 27 year old loans officer pleaded down from manslaughter by negligence to the lesser offense of causing death by careless conduct.

With that, Mirna Arely Rivera had her fine waived and she was only ordered to pay compensation of $5,000 to the estate of the deceased.

Justice Derick Sylvester ordered her to pay John Flowers, the stepson of the deceased who was Joseph Bevan Sr. The accident happened on Central American Boulevard in April of 2022.
