You'll remember Wannie - the horse that was chopped and left for dead but miraculously survived after receiving the treatment he needed. 5 young men were arrested and charged for animal cruelty for kidnapping and harming the horse. Three of them are minors - two 15 and one 16 - and two are adults, both 19. This morning in Magistrate's court, they were all sentenced.

The 16 year old and one of the 15 year olds received a one year suspended sentence. They also received several hours of community service and must enroll in anger management, life skills, apprenticeship, and CRD programs. The other 15 year old received one year probation, 50 hours of community service, and must enroll in anger management and cognitive behavior counseling.

In terms of the two adults, Tyrique Straughan and Raheem Herbert, they were both fined $200 dollars.

All five are scheduled to return to court on August 11 to learn if a separate cattle theft charge will proceed summarily or on indictment.
