The driver of the truck, 39 year old Melvin Harris told police that he was maneuvering to avoid potholes, causing it to collide into the motorcycle.
While police are investigating, the Solis family is mourning the death of two members. According to Josue Solis' sister, the last time she saw him was Friday, and he promised to pass by and visit her.

"He was working and the little boy was studying at SJC and the last time I saw them on Friday, they were supposed to start working for him Monday because he told me he would pass to see me but he didn't make it. Friday was the last time I saw him."

"Every time they drive together because the boy is working with him."
"He's a nice person, every time he's with us. I don't spend too much time with him because he works but he passes and sees me everyday or when he has time."
And Josue Solis' workplace, Tropical Holdings, issued a statement saying quote, "Josue was more than just a hardworking team member; he was a humble, kind presence throughout our company. As a foreman, he led with quiet strength, always ready to lend a hand and set an example of what true teamwork looks like. His dedication, leadership, and warmth will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him." End quote.
