So police now have six murders or attempted murder investigations in the Eastern division for which there have been no arrests. In the past 6 days alone four men have been targeted in shootings- but fortunately they all survived. We asked the Commissioner about this rash of attempted murders:

"But it's 4 time in a week, a little more than a week, where a person's life has been fortunately spared because of the inaccuracy of the shooter, we have Villafranco, Kerr, today's Kerr, Anderson from Friday, and Germaine Garnett Junior - All these persons were shot, but not thankfully not murdered. We are clearly seeing an escalation in this mode of engagement. Is that a concern to the police department?"

"Well, any spike in violence is a concern to the police department and our investigators are working around the clock, meticulously trying to collect evidential material to identify and bring those individuals to justice."
"I am confident that we will have an arrest or two very shortly."
