At the top of the news, we told you about the charges brought against 50 year old teacher Said Badi Guerra for sexual assault, harm and producing defilement of a minor. He's out on bail of 10,000 dollars tonight.
It allegedly happened on the 14th July at 5:30 when the teenager left home to do some errands. When he went to buy food, he met Guerra, who he claims got him drunk and took him to his home in Benque where the young man received various injuries during a sexual encounter. He escaped around 1 or 2 in the morning.
Today his uncle spoke to us off camera - he was very upset that Guerra got bail. Uncle of Minor:
"I would like to call for the family members that have been through this problem to all those children that have been sexually offended and sexually touched by this man to voice out lets come as a community and as people to voice out so that this man and several other persons that have not been dealt justice go to jail and I believe and I strongly believe his sentence is supposed to be life no bail whatsoever, no parole or I don't know what you call it. The judge is supposed to be mindful if he is released as he has been released now 1 he could flee the country or 2 he could target more persons, or even worse he might try to attempt to grab him again.We never know and we should always think about the consequences of what a simple bail could cause."
As you heard earlier Guera stresses that he is innocent until proven guilty and only allegations have been made.
