And while the ruling PUP can fuss about whether Land Cruisers should have been navy blue or marble white, for the UDP, there are no s such luxuries. They can't even decide on a leader or a way forward.
Last night on Uncut former UDP Mayor and President of the Senate Darrell Bradley spoke about his party's long run in the political wilderness. Jules Vasquez asked him who should lead:
Darrell Bradley, Former UDP Mayor, Attorney at Law:
"I think from a United Democratic Party standpoint, he can't be. And the reason why I would say that is..."
Jules:
"He cannot be?"
Darrell Bradley, Former UDP Mayor, Attorney at Law:
"He cannot be, you want a leader that can galvanise people and that can unify individuals."
"I like Tracy, and one of the things I am very much watching in this situation because I am looking at her and I am looking at the way how she will emerge and perhaps galvanise people in a way…"
Jules:
"She has failed to do so"
Darrell Bradley, Former UDP Mayor, Attorney at Law:
"This is what I am saying"
Jules:
"in the months since"
Darrell Bradley, Former UDP Mayor, Attorney at Law:
"But this is what I am saying so...."
"Originally you asked about the idea of Shyne and the idea about Tracy, you need to have a person who is about character you need to have a person who can communicate ideas and you need to have a person who knows what they are doing and can galvanise people and lead a movement in terms of transformation."
"Wah lotta times you and me talk about personality who will be the leader and I've oftentimes said that is not the correct question. You have many people who can lead the United Democratic Party,"
Jules:
"I don't agree but..."
Darrell Bradley, Former UDP Mayor, Attorney at Law:
"I can name you a few that I can think of but it will require a series of people it will require a team of individuals."
